Jasmine Felicia Crockett was born on March 29, 1981, in St. Louis, Missouri. Her father, Dr. Michael Crockett, was a teacher and minister, while her mother, Dr. Ida Crockett, was a nurse and later a university administrator. Crockett received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin.
